# Changelog

LocalStack 0.2.3 is the first stable release. Downloadable assets and the complete release history are published on [GitHub Releases](https://github.com/backrunner/localstack/releases).

## 0.2.3

October 18, 2026 · Stable

The first stable release keeps the full, free GitHub DMG experience: native menu bar discovery, verified HTML pages, compact rows, batch stops, and signed automatic updates.

- Verify the actual listening address as well as PID and port. Independent IPv4 and IPv6 servers sharing a port stay distinct; stopping one preserves the other.
- Resolve `localhost` to the address owned by the claimed process, including IPv6-only and dual-stack listeners.
- Correct the row menu's Open action in multi-select mode.
- Cancel completed or rejected updater HTTP tasks explicitly.
- Refuse preexisting temporary files when writing MCP configuration, and set permissions before writing credentials.
- Support MCP `ping` health checks; test the real stdio handshake, errors, and tool list. CLI version is now 0.1.1.
- Add real Unix-socket SDK lifecycle and Vite lease-recovery tests, with CLI and Node.js 20/22 checks in CI.

Distribution remains Developer ID-signed, Apple-notarized GitHub DMG. The CLI and Widget extension are separate source targets. See the [stability review](https://github.com/backrunner/localstack/blob/main/docs/stable-readiness.md) for verification and limits.

## 0.2.3-beta.3

- Compact single-line service rows, up to eight visible rows, and scroll-edge fades.
- Direct row stop actions and multi-select batch stopping with per-process confirmation.
- Revalidate process identity on force retries, handle partial listener shutdowns, and prevent stopped rows returning from stale synchronization.
- Suppress Surge probes for the identified process lifetime and filter internal Wrangler/workerd endpoints using live process and listener metadata.
- Publish complete Chinese and English documentation with svedocs 0.3.0 and SvelteKit 3, including distribution and App Store readiness details.

The DMG contains the menu bar app and embedded Coordinator; CLI and Widget targets remain separate.
